About Auto Crónica
My name's Daniel Fonseca da Silva. I'm a software engineer based in Portugal nearly nine years spent building reliable systems, from the cloud to the products people use every day and I'm also a car enthusiast. Auto Crónica came out of where those two things meet.
View LinkedIn profileThe problem
Anywhere in Europe, buying a car new or used often means going in blind. Every vehicle has faults that surface sooner or later: a part that always fails in the same place, an engine with a known weakness, a gearbox that gives trouble past a certain mileage. That information exists, but it's scattered across forums, groups and loose conversations and it's hard to know what to trust.
The solution
Auto Crónica is a catalogue of chronic faults organised by make and model, built to grow over time. When there isn't enough data yet on a vehicle, AI helps suggest the most likely issues; and a community of owners comments, corrects and votes on reports, so the information keeps getting more reliable.
For anyone who loves cars
This project is for anyone who loves practical city cars, quiet electrics, characterful classics or sporty machines and wants to decide with more information and fewer surprises.
